Speaking: I speak to small and large groups on a variety of topics, sometimes about food and wine and sometimes not. I am a recognized national and international expert on topics such as salt, pepper, butter, polenta, mustard, olive oil, vinegar, tomatoes, pasta, Sonoma County, California, the farm-restaurant connection, restaurant criticism and Mediterranean cooking. I specialize in lively informative presentations geared towards specific audiences. Past clients include Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt, Slow Food, HMS Travel and the International Pepper & Spice Conference in Malaysia.
Writing & Editing: I have been a full-time freelance writer for more than twenty years. I accept freelance assignments on a wide variety of topics. I am also happy to speak with you regarding your writing project. I can write your book proposal, edit or organize your manuscript, edit your recipes or develop the full project for you. Teaching: I teach in the Culinary Arts Department at Santa Rosa Junior College and have taught at private cooking schools around the country. For information about my in-home cooking class dinner parties, click here. To inquire about booking me at your cooking school, simply send me an e-mail.
Consulting: I offer professional consultations on any subject related to food and wine. If your request is outside my area of expertise, I will refer you to the right person.
